About us

Charity activities are taken place around the world.

The ADI Alliance (Alliance for Diversity and Inclusion), established in 2024, is a regional coalition dedicated to advancing the rights of diverse communities including LGBTQI+  and promoting comprehensive health and well-being across the Arab world and Pakistan.

Founded following a consultative meeting in Tunisia with the support of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), the ADI Alliance was created by a diverse group of organizations and activists from Pakistan, Morocco, Tunisia, and Lebanon.

These founders recognized the urgent need for a unified platform to advocate for inclusivity in regions where these communities face significant legal, social, and political challenges.

At the core of the ADI Alliance’s mission is the commitment to ensuring that individuals in the Arab world and Pakistan have equitable access to essential health services particularly SRHR services. This includes hormone therapies, HIV prevention and treatment services such as PrEP and PEP, mental health support, and other vital health-related services that are often inaccessible due to stigma, discrimination, and restrictive laws. By collaborating closely with healthcare providers, policymakers, and international partners, the ADI Alliance strives to dismantle these barriers and promote a rights-based approach to healthcare that respects diverse identities and orientations.

The ADI Alliance brings together a broad spectrum of organizations, including registered NGOs, civil society organizations (CSOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), and unregistered initiatives led by activists in regions where formal registration is either prohibited or highly restricted. This inclusive approach allows the ADI Alliance to effectively represent and advocate for marginalized communities across the Arab world and Pakistan, amplifying their voices in both national and international platforms. Through advocacy, support, and empowerment, the alliance addresses the intersecting challenges faced by individuals, particularly in accessing health services without fear of discrimination or violence.

A cornerstone of the ADI Alliance’s work is its advocacy for policy reform to safeguard the rights of diverse communities. This includes pushing for the integration of comprehensive health education in national curricula, the repeal of punitive laws that criminalize certain behaviors, and the adoption of policies that ensure confidentiality, informed consent, and non-discriminatory healthcare practices. Through targeted advocacy campaigns, research, and policy dialogues, the ADI Alliance works to shift societal perceptions and build an enabling environment where individuals can access the health services they need safely and with dignity.

The governance structure of the ADI Alliance is designed to ensure transparency, accountability, and member participation. Managed by a Secretariat and a Steering Committee comprising five elected members, with elections held every two years, the alliance’s governance model promotes inclusivity and responsiveness. This framework allows for the creation of specialized committees based on members’ needs, focusing on critical areas such as health advocacy, emergency response, and legal reform. These committees play a vital role in addressing emerging challenges and ensuring that the alliance’s actions are aligned with the needs of diverse communities in the Arab world and Pakistan.

In addition to its core members, the ADI Alliance also welcomes observatory members – individuals who, while not directly involved in advocacy, provide advisory support and contribute valuable expertise from various fields. Although these members do not possess voting rights, their input enriches the alliance’s strategies by incorporating diverse perspectives, particularly in addressing the unique health needs of individuals in conservative and restrictive environments.

Through its collaborative efforts with regional and international stakeholders, the ADI Alliance aspires to build a future where diversity and inclusion are embraced, and where individuals across the Arab world and Pakistan can exercise their rights freely. By prioritizing advocacy, capacity building, and service delivery, the ADI Alliance aims to transform the landscape of rights and promote a vision of equality, health, and human dignity for all.
